Alarming Assisted Suicide Recommendations before Parliament:
How will they affect the vulnerable, health care workers, our loved ones, our country?
If the Parliamentary Committee recommendations now before Parliament are adopted, Canada will become the most permissive assisted suicide regime in the world.
The recommendations would allow assisted suicide for non-terminal patients, for psychiatric patients, and even, in three years, for children who would be considered "mature minors." Not only that, medical care workers and health care institutions such as hospitals, hospices, and long-term care facilities would be forced to provide assisted suicide to patients who request it or refer them to someone who will.
